THE AREA
The surroundings The area surrounding Nebias is called la Haute de L’aude and is characterized by unspoiled nature with beautiful mountains, forests, vineyards, caves, lakes, rivers and waterfalls. The area lies close to the Pyrenees and therefore has a splendid view of the pointy snow-covered mountains.
The Catarrhs The catarrhs lived in this area for a couple of centuries - around 1300 – and have left their mark on the population. They didn’t survive the Catholic Church’s crusade against them, but many of their castles did and you can see many of the ruins in the area.

Carcassonne One hours drive from Nebias lies one of the worlds most remarkable cities, which houses one of France's biggest attractions – a giant well-preserved fortress from the Middle Ages. There are many fortresses in Europe but none compares to “la Cité de Carcassonne”.

Dinosaurs There are also dinosaur museums and caves with some of the oldest human drawings ever discovered. |
